Front-End Web Developer

Summary of Job Requirements:

Our Front End Web Developers are exceptional, experienced senior software engineers who obsess over user interface development for consumer facing web services. Our Front End Web Developer reports directly to our CTO. Our Front End Developers work closely with our product and UI design teams to code functional and visually appealing UI for FitOrbit.com. We code in the latest web and UI technologies including HTML/CSS/Ajax/Java/Jquery and more. We are a cloud-based web service developed in Ruby on Rails using an Agile development methodology with weekly releases.

Our front-end web developers can work at our ocean view offices near Santa Monica, CA or may telecommute from their home anywhere in the continental United States.

Required Qualifications:
    • Minimum 4 Year Degree in Computer Science, Design or other relevant discipline.
    • Superlative coding skills in relevant technologies including Ajax, HTML, CSS, Java, Jquery, and more.
    • Strong experience building leading consumer-oriented websites compatible with IE7/8, Chrome, Firefox and Safari (must show portfolio of relevant work)
    • Intimate familiarity with at least one template language (e.g. Ruby on Rails, JSP, ASP, Template Toolkit)
    • Experience with Ruby on Rails is a strong plus
    • Experience/interest in visual/UI design and tools including Photoshop are a strong plus

Our Senior Web Developers are exceptional, experienced senior software engineers who obsess over developing innovative, scalable consumer-facing web services. Senior Developers are involved in all aspects of our product development, including architecture design, actual hands-on coding and R&D as well. Developers formally report to our CTO, but we work in a team-oriented, open environment. We are a cloud-based service developed in Ruby on Rails. Strong RoR experience is preferred, but not required IF you have exceptional experience in object-oriented web development. We develop using Agile methodologies with weekly releases.

Growth Hacker aka Director of User Growth

FitOrbit is a proven online weight loss coaching platform with thousands of happy customers and many great investors (Spark Capital, WellPoint, SV Angel). Now is the time to grow our user base of paying subscribers, so we are seeking a world-class, hands-on Growth Hacker to lead that effort. This is a Director or VP level position (depending on experience), reporting to the CEO, with Board-level visibility.

Our Growth Hacker needs to have proven track record of profitably acquiring new users for an online subscription service. This role is part marketing genius, part analytics and testing and part funnel optimization. Your job is to work across all aspects of the business – using state-of-the-art tools and techniques – to flat out grow the paying user base of FitOrbit. You have specific, direct experience in all aspects of digital and online marketing aimed at acquiring paying customers over "free users" to online services. In short, you have fought for online subscribers…and WON!

Required Qualifications:
    • Minimum 4 Year Degree in Software Engineering, Marketing and/or Business Administration
    • Proven expertise increasing paying subscriber base for online services.
    • Superlative metrics, analytics and funnel optimization skills to maximize campaigns, pricing, acquisition funnel, LTV and other key variables in "real time".
    • Experience interfacing with ad networks (entering and managing campaigns, creative, optimization, payments) and social media to develop and optimize winning campaigns.
    • Ability to evaluate potential partnerships on an acquisition-ROI basis, and working with chosen partners to execute profitable campaigns
    • State-of-the-art skills in leveraging A/B testing and social platforms to positively impact marketing.
    • Creativity to discover partners and channels to find ROI-positive areas of user acquisition opportunity.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills – including marketing copywriting.
