About Me

I have been in the fitness business for over 25 years. I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Health Education, specializing in Wellness. I started out in hospital-based wellness programs, teaching fitness, weight management, stress management, and smoking cessation. I went on to work for the Central Florida YMCA as a program director in fitness and sports, and now have my own private training studio in Ocala, Florida. I also write about health and fitness for area magazines. I compete in running, triathlon, and tennis. I believe in a functional approach to fitness, which means strengthening the body to perform better in the activities you do every day. The core is very important, as is balance and agility training. I also believe that exercise is the best stress-reducer there is, and the mind-body-spirit connection is strengthened through exercise. I love teaching people about healthy eating, and have dozens of tips and tricks for staying on your diet.
